Dear Mr. Ord,
Demolition has been threatened for a long time, but not carried out. It would be very wise to contact a lawyer and ask them about the current situation in that neighborhood. Also, the land there is not escritura publica. The form of ownership is vague. DO NOT BUY there without consulting a lawyer.
I recommend Carlos Zoega, whose contact information is listed on this site. He speaks English and is extremely competent.

Could you please provide some information on a article written on November 2009 , concerning a demolition 0f 20 houses near lagoinha pequena in compeche, as you mentions they are to close to the lake and are posing an envirnomental threat . As you are aware the law forbids construction within 33 meters of water …. please could you advise me whether the demolition of 20 houses will take place and when ??? as I am interested in buying a house very close to lagoinha pequena !

do you know which houses /location will be slated ? or who I can contact for more information As I don’t want to make a unlawful or bad investment
